The Resorts West Ski Dream Home began with a vision to develop the ultimate luxury mountain retreat, complete with every amenity a skier might desire for the perfect vacation experience. In 2005 SKI Magazine chose Resorts West, the leader in luxury property management, and Deer Valley Resort, consistently voted the #1 ski resort in North America, to bring this vision to life.

Resorts West founders Joe and James Ballstaedt took their experience in the marketplace and consulted reservations experts, housekeeping staff, realtors and skiing enthusiasts to conceptualize the home before selecting local architect Michael Upwall and Utah luxury homebuilder Jeff Hill of Midway Construction Company to make that concept a reality.

As Dream Home Project Manager, Resorts West CEO Joe Ballstaedt specifically chose a premier lot nestled atop Little Baldy Peak for its prime ski-in/ski-out access and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and Jordanelle Reservoir. The partners broke ground for the Dream Home in October 2005 at the chosen lot in the exclusive gated community of Deer Crest.

As the developer, project manager and property manager of the home, Resorts West played a very active role in  the project throughout its conception, design, construction and  presentation. When the home reached completion in December of 2007, the stunning result drew media attention from across the globe, garnering features from the New York Times to Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald.

Resorts West has maintained the home to increasingly greater heights since its completion, adding custom landscaping, new artwork and even a more private driveway. A dedicated maintenance and housekeeping staff have upheld the home’s finer details to meticulous standards.
